Sorry, at this time, we do not buy costume jewelry or gold plated/filled, colored stones (including precious, semi-precious, lab-created, imitation or synthetic gemstones) or silver items. If you submit any of these items, StrikeGoldNow will evaluate the precious metal content, if any, associated with the items and base any check offer primarily on the precious metal content.
How can I tell if my items are gold?
The easiest way is to read the karat markings on each piece. Any one of the following markings indicates that your jewelry is solid gold:

For 9 karat–9K, 9kt, .375
For 10 karat–10K, 10kt, 417
For 14 karat–14K, 14kt, 583
For 18 karat–18K, 18kt, 750
For 24 karat–24K, 24kt, .9999

Please note: Items marked GF, Gold Filled, HGE, RGP, EGP, Sterling, 925, 1/10 or 1/20 are NOT solid gold. For information about platinum, please see the next question.
How can I tell if my items are platinum?
The easiest way is to read the markings on each piece. Any one of the following markings indicates that your jewelry is platinum:

Please note: : Items marked “Plated” are NOT platinum.
Do I have to clean my jewelry before I ship it?
No. There is no need to clean, fix or sort your jewelry.
How do I ship my gold to you?
Complete the FREE StrikeGoldNow™ Kit request form or call us at
1-800-339-7809 to order the kit. We will send you a postage paid, insured and secure package for you to send us your gold items through the regular
mail – we pay for all shipping and insurance costs!
You can drop your Gold Kit in your mailbox or visit www.usps.com to find your nearest post office location.
Every package is automatically insured up to $1000. Please take a look at our Terms and Conditions for full details. If you would like insurance in excess of $1000 from Cash America, please contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-339-7809.
What if all my items do not fit in the envelope?
You can simply order another free Gold Kit by using the form on the left or send the excess items to us using your own packaging. Please note that if you use your own packaging, we do not pay for your shipping and your package will not be insured by Cash America.
How do I know if you received my gold?
If you use the complimentary USPS postage paid envelopes we provide to you in your gold-selling kit, you may track the progress of your package by simply entering your Customer ID Number in the Track Your Package page of our Web site when prompted and the status of your package will be displayed.
Are my items insured when I send my Gold Kit to you?
Absolutely! We pay for the all shipping and insurance costs – even if you decide not to sell us your gold!
All returned Gold Kits automatically are insured by Cash America for up to $1000!
For your protection and to ensure you receive the maximum amount of insurance proceeds, we advise you to keep receipts and take pictures of your items before you send them. Cash America will only insure items that are sent using the Gold Kit packaging and shipped via the United States Postal Service. Please review our Terms and Conditions for more information on our insurance policy.

What do I do if I want to purchase other forms of insurance?
If you wish to purchase other forms of insurance other than the insurance from Cash America described above, please consult a trusted shipping company or insurance carrier.
How do I know if you received my gold?
If you use the prepaid envelope that we provide you in your Gold Kit and ship your items via the United States Postal Service, you may track your package by entering your Customer ID number on the Track Shipment page.
You can find your Customer ID number in the email that was sent to you after you ordered your Gold Kit or by calling our Customer Service department
at 1-800-339-7809.
Why do I have to give you my driver’s license number and the last four digits of
my social security number?
We ask for this information for your security and safety. We verify that your name matches the shipping address you provide so that there will be no delays when we send you your check offer. In addition, we use this information to deter disposal of stolen property.
How much will you pay me for my gold?
The price we pay you for your gold is based on the purity (karat) and weight of your gold and the spot price of gold in the market. We do not buy costume jewelry, gold plated/filled items or silver items.

How quickly will I receive my offer?

Why do you use the United States Postal Service (USPS) instead of Federal Express or UPS?
We are one of many companies in our industry that use the United States Postal Service instead of other national shippers because of the United States Postal Service’s reliable track record and the convenience of its national shipping locations.
Do you report the sale amounts to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service)?
We are required by law to report any payments to an individual that is over $10,000. If your items are worth less than $10,000, then we will not report the sale to the IRS; however, you are still responsible for any reporting requirements – please check with your tax preparer for advice.
Can I use a shipping company besides the United States Postal Service?
You may, at your own expense, use any shipping method (ground, express, priority, etc.) or shipping company (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
We will not insure or have any liability for items (i) sent to us in packaging other than the Gold Kit packaging, or (ii) shipped to us by a shipping company other than the United States Postal Service.
Please keep the following in mind when using a shipping company other than the United States Postal Service:
